Katie Ernesto

UX Designer

By day I’m a passionate UX professional combining data, strategy, and aesthetics to create compelling digital work such as responsive applications, mobile experiences, websites, brand identities, and more. I am a systematic thinker with a background in project management and front end development, and I bring those skill sets to my design practice. I hold certifications in User Experience Design from Nielsen Norman Group and the UX Design Institute. 

By night I’m an artist, a writer, and a collectibles enthusiast. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, my cats, and reading.

I greet challenges with a ‘nothing is impossible’ attitude and bring a positive energy to everything I do. I love mentoring and coaching others in design best practice. My dream company is one who values my deep passion for data and user-driven product decisions, and where I can help elevate the product and brand. I’m always open to collaborating and connecting with other professionals, particularly within the design and user experience industries.

Digital Products & Experiences

I’ve spent the past four years primarily focused on designing digital product experiences. I’ve designed for both legacy and modern platforms, responsive web apps, a mobile app, and over 40 custom websites across verticals with various funnels. I design very methodically and love using design systems to auto-magically make changes happen. I’ve enjoyed learning to apply a scientific approach to what makes design and arts functional as well as enjoyable.

Brands & Materials

Creating a brand is a unique experience at every company. It requires getting to know the emotional side of your business and client, and then reflecting that unique psyche back with typography, color, imagery and stylistic choices. I’ve created logos, custom brand and ui color palettes, brand guides, and design systems. I can help express an existing brand or create a new one from scratch for you.

Presentations & Slide Decks

I have experience designing and giving presentations for various team or company sizes. I can create artistic or professional presentations to suit any audience.

Marketing Assets

Wherever I’ve worked, I tend to lend a hand with Marketing’s graphic design needs. I’m just too helpful I guess ;-) I’ve created business cards, stickers, posters, brochures, fliers, booth banners, realistic product mockups, done minor video editing, t-shirts, magazine ad proofs, and more. I’ve also helped guide visual brand direction and imagery. When it comes to making your marketing design and product design match, it helps to have someone with hands in both.

Vector Design & Digital Illustration

I am a digital artist in my personal life, and have experience creating custom icons, altering SVG libraries to look custom and creating additional assets for them, creating vector logos, creating concept art for contractor completion, as well as providing art direction to an outside vendor. Creating diverse and fun illustration and vector libraries is my latest favorite.

Material Goods & Other

I also have experience designing for material goods such as shirts, hats, backpacks and bags, pillows and other goods. In my personal time I enjoy creating pottery, painting, writing, and other creative crafts.

I would also add, I am an A++ meme maker since I know how to use design tools.
